Looks like robots are everywhere these days. From medical field to construction business to routine tasks, robots are taking over machines and artificial intelligence is sparing human beings from doing most hectic everyday tasks, take, for example, doing the laundry. If you have always wished to have some genie to fold and de-wrinkle your washed clothes, your wish has just been granted, Foldimate is the new generation’s laundry genie.
A San Fransisco based tech startup came up with this idea. The invention can not only fold clothes but can also perfume, soften, sanitize and de-wrinkle them as soon as they come out of the washing machine.
All you have to do is hang the newly washed clothes on the rack outside the Foldimate and indicate the type of clothing using the available buttons and then just switch it on. The machine will sense the fabric-type automatically and will adjust itself accordingly. The device as able to handle 15-20 pieces of clothing at a time. It is to be noted that the machine, in no way, is a substitute of a washing machine. It just does the after-laundry tasks.
As explained by Foldimate:
“We developed a patented robotic method to fold clothes that reduces the machine size by a 1/3rd or less while keeping the target price point affordable to consumers and businesses alike (less than 1/5th of our direct competitor’s price).”
